WINTER

December · January · February

Winter is a season for hearty vegetables, storage crops, and greenhouse-grown produce. While outdoor harvests slow down, a wide variety of fresh and stored produce remains available throughout the colder months.

  • Fresh

Fresh produce available during the winter months can include apples, kale, kiwi, leeks, onions and parsnip. Availability varies considerably by region and growing conditions.

  • Greenhouse-grown

Greenhouses help keep fresh produce available through the colder months. Winter selections can include cucumbers, and tomatoes.

  • Stored / dried / frozen

Many winter favourites have a longer seasonal availability thanks to proper storage. These can include apples, beets, cabbage, carrots, garlic, parsnips, potatoes, rutabagas, shallots, turnips, and winter squash.

SPRING

March · April · May

Spring marks the return of a wider variety of fresh produce. As the weather warms, tender greens, early vegetables, and seasonal favourites begin to appear, while some storage crops remain available from the previous growing season.

  • Fresh

Fresh spring produce can include Bok choy, kale, leeks, lettuce, peas, radishes, rhubarb, and spinach. As the season progresses, more locally grown produce begins to become available.

  • Greenhouse-grown

Greenhouse growing helps keep a variety of fresh produce available as the outdoor growing season gets underway. Spring selections can include cucumbers, bell peppers and tomatoes.

  • Stored / dried / frozen

Stored produce from the previous growing season can remain available into spring. These can include beans, beets, cabbage, carrots, garlic, onions, parsnips, potatoes, rutabagas, shallots, and winter squash.

SUMMER

June · July · August

Summer is the peak season for fresh produce, bringing an abundant variety of vegetables, fruits, and berries. As the season progresses, the selection continues to grow, with many favourites reaching their prime during the warmer months.

  • Fresh

Fresh summer produce can include artichokes, beans, beets, broccoli, cabbage, carrots, cauliflower, celery, corn, garlic, kale, lettuce, peas, potatoes, radishes, rhubarb, spinach, turnips, and zucchini. The selection expands throughout the season as more crops reach their peak.

  • Fresh fruits & berries

Summer also brings a wide variety of fruits and berries, including apricots, blackberries, blueberries, cherries, currants, gooseberries, melons, nectarines, peaches, raspberries, and strawberries. Availability varies as different fruits reach their peak throughout the season.

  • Greenhouse-grown

Greenhouse growing continues to provide a steady selection of fresh produce throughout the summer. Seasonal selections can include cucumbers, peppers and tomatoes.

  • Stored / dried / frozen

With fresh harvests at their peak, fewer storage crops are highlighted during the summer months. Depending on the time of year, stored selections can include beans, onions, and shallots.

FALL

September · October · November

Fall brings a wide variety of fresh vegetables and fruit as the harvest season reaches its peak. As temperatures cool, seasonal favourites become more abundant and many crops are prepared for winter storage.

  • Fresh fruits

  • Greenhouse-grown

Greenhouse growing helps extend the availability of fresh produce throughout the year. Depending on the season and availability, selections can include cucumbers, peppers, and tomatoes.

*Seasonal availability is a general guide and may vary depending on growing conditions, sourcing, and time of year.
